INSIDE SCOOP Windlesham House School London Road, Washington, West Sussex, RH20 4AY Admissions: admissions@windlesham.com 01903 874701 • windlesham.com SE Day/Flexi/Weekly/Full 4-13 The Inside Scoop from a current parent… We chose the school for a number of reasons: its reputation initially. Also, the location and the facilities. The visit sealed the deal – it felt right on every level. Not pushy academically (but they get the results) and lots of smiling children. The children showed us around and it was all very relaxed. My child is thriving there. He was at a London school and it was very competitive. His confidence has really grown and with that, so has his academic knowledge. He plays a lot of sport and is a real team player – there’s a lot of camaraderie. They don’t have a uniform which makes for a different feel. It’s very outdoorsy so the kids can run around and play in dens/woods without the worry of getting their uniform dirty. Open days: 15th June 2019. As parents, we love: The layers of pastoral care and support the children (and parents) receive. The environment and space for the children is really unbelievable. The range of senior schools they send the children on to is impressive. Our children love: The friends they make. The space to run around is huge and we love it. All the amazing and different range of activities on offer. HEADS UP “Our philosophy is that happy children will do well and our mantra to the children is ‘be kind, be kind, be kind’. We hope we create an environment where children feel nurtured and often refer to school as a ‘home from home.” Richard Foster, Headmaster 86 Read the full review on schoolnotices.co.uk ★ 2019
INSIDE SCOOP Woodbridge School Burkitt Road, Woodbridge, Suffolk, IP12 4JH Admissions: admissions@woodbridgeschool.org.uk 01394 615041 • woodbridgeschool.org.uk M|N Day/Full 4-18 The Inside Scoop from a current parent… We chose Woodbridge as we liked the idea of the children staying at one school for their entire education, but the different sites meant it would not feel like they had spent too long in one place. It was like separate schools but without losing friendships and continuity. Woodbridge has taught my children to be mature, self-reliant and have the ability to think laterally. They are confident but not arrogant. They engage in adult conversations and know the importance of looking smart when required. Woodbridge is good for both the academic and not so academic children. My daughter has received learning support since Year 2. She has excelled in the areas that come easiest to her while still achieving good GCSE results. As parents, we love: Learning support to help our children reach their full potential without compromise Friendly, encouraging teachers and the sense of community. The fantastic art department that encourages everyone to give art a go. Our children love: The amazing friendships we have made at Woodbridge. The exceptional range of extra-curricular activities, there’s something for everyone! The teachers, they inspire us to work hard and to achieve our best. HEADS UP “On visiting us, you will be struck by the warmth and sense of community. Our school is not only a kind, happy, nuturing place, we prepare pupils with the skills that will enable them to thrive. Academic achievement is just one part of the outstanding educational experience.” Dr Richard Robson, Headmaster Open days: Senior School: 28th September 2019, Year 5 Day: 22nd May 2019. 2019 ★ Read the full review on schoolnotices.co.uk 87
