INSIDE SCOOP Cheltenham Ladies’ College Bayshill Rd, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, GL50 3EP Admissions: admissions@cheltladiescollege.org 01242 707070 • cheltladiescollege.org SW Day/Full 11-18 The Inside Scoop from a current parent… CLC ticked every box for us as an all girls’ school and we continue to be totally blown away by the school. Girls are independent thinkers and individuals; there is no ‘fixed look’ or mould which is so refreshing. The girls are encouraged to question and challenge the status quo, to think outside the box and above all be themselves. CLC encourages its girls to be the best at whatever interests them and the school instils an unashamed enthusiasm in them for whatever it is they enjoy. They are all united in their passion, focus and resilience. We love this individuality! The girls are happy which, in many ways, is all a parent can ask for! As parents, we love: The individuality, capability and open mindedness of the girls. The team attitude amongst the girls when they all get together which is inclusive and powerful. That the girls have a lot of fun together. Our children love: My friends and classes where it’s OK to just be myself, natural and inquisitive with no pressure. Being part of the College Choir. The variety of sport and using the new Health & Fitness Centre in the evenings. HEADS UP “At Cheltenham Ladies’College we aim to support and guide girls in becoming self-determining, fulfilled and resilient women who value, serve and enrich the communities to which they belong in a complex and changing world.” Eve Jardine-Young, Principal Open days: 20th May 2019, 8th June 2019, 28th June 2019, 21st September 2019, 5th October 2019. 18 Read the full review on schoolnotices.co.uk ★ 2019
INSIDE SCOOP Christ College Brecon Orchard St, Brecon, Powys, LD3 8AF Admissions: admissions@christcollegebrecon.com 01874 615440 • christcollegebrecon.com S|W Day/Flexi/Full 7-18 The Inside Scoop from a current parent… Christ College was by far the best school in our view in the area, it is set within stunning scenery and steeped in history. An opportune visit to one of the school’s open days really impressed on us Christ College’s academic ethos and strong connections to the community. The quality of the music, sport and drama has inspired our daughter and allowed her to excel in all these areas. 90% of Christ College students gain a place at their first choice of university and through being a student at Christ College, our daughter has acquired a sense of self-confidence and happiness which we know will serve her well as she leaves for university and her life ahead. As parents, we love: The outstanding community spirit of the school. Their approach to discipline and work ethic. How the school’s approach has shaped our daughter’s spirit and character. Our children love: Sports such as hockey, where the school has won the Welsh championship. Being a member of the chapel choir and singing in St Peter’s Cathedral, Rome. The extra-curricular music and the opportunity to play in the school orchestra. HEADS UP “Since its creation over four centuries ago, Christ College has evolved without losing touch with it’s sense of heritage and belonging. Our close knit community is characterised by mutual respect and warmth, with each individual pupil’s interests, skills and needs being cared for.” Gareth Pearson, Headmaster Open days: 21st September 2019. 2019 ★ Read the full review on schoolnotices.co.uk 19
